"A candle that shines twice as bright, only burns half as long."
This site was made in order to help with the proper burial of Eleanor May. As a devout Catholic, that was her only wish for after she passed. As her daughters, we intend to fulfill her wish no matter what. Her passing was not at all expected and we are still both in shock that she is no longer on the Earth. If you cannot donate, please just keep us in your prayers. Thank you everyone for your support.

Woman who died in house fire identified
Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 7:37 p.m.
SAN DIEGO — A woman found dead during a fire at her home in the Lincoln Park neighborhood has been identified as Eleanor May, the Medical Examiner’s Office said Tuesday.
May, 65, died from burns and smoke inhalation, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.
May was visiting a neighbor about 4:30 p.m. and returned to her home to get something. When she failed to come back quickly, the neighbor went outside, saw smoke coming from May’s home and called 911, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Firefighters arrived minutes later and found her facedown in a hallway connecting the bedrooms with the living room, fire officials said. She was declared dead minutes later.
The flames were sparked by candles left unattended in a bedroom. The blaze caused an estimated $100,000 damage to the single-story home and to a two-story apartment under construction behind it, along with $25,000 damage to the contents, fire officials said.
The woman’s husband was displaced by the fire, and the Red Cross was called to help him.
